Well, no, even if applications "run" is not usually in the background on Android, they have a "running" state, with a "instancebundle" with information needed to get up the program again to save the previous state in case the memory to be unloaded. The difference between an application and a pause was considered small but still significant for both developers and users.

Verizon is currently testing the while being a pre user for the last 4 months droids. The menu is sophisticated multitasking and the GUI is prettier. But responding to the Pre slowly to touch commands, this is probably the biggest drawback for me is this Zeitpunkt.Die droids on the other hand, very snappy, surf better and has more apps.

If the request has nothing to do, it will be stored in memory, and paused. If a page is loading, or application is to do something, it will run in the background while you do something else with your Telefon.Multitasking, but only if necessary.

imho .... this is not "real" ... and the multitasking operating system provides a Palm Pre ugly I have and I love the cards multutasking feature ... much better than androids multitasking ... of course thats my opinion
